As the Vice President of Marketing and Member Experience at the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN)—the leading trade association for the dietary supplement industry—Powers exemplifies how artistic flair can intersect with strategic business acumen to drive meaningful change. Her journey began with a solid educational foundation. Powers earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Saint Xavier University, equipping her with the visual and communicative skills that would become hallmarks of her professional life. This background in design laid the groundwork for her entry into the world of communications and marketing. In 1999, Powers joined CRN as a Communications Associate, diving headfirst into the dynamic realm of trade associations. Her early role involved supporting the organization’s efforts to advocate for responsible industry practices, including common-sense regulations for dietary supplements.
Over the years, she climbed the ranks steadily, demonstrating versatility and leadership. She advanced to Creative Director, where she honed her skills in visual design and brand identity. This was followed by positions as Director of Communications and then Director of Marketing Communications, where she expanded her scope to include content strategy, digital marketing, and media relations.A notable chapter in her career occurred from 2007 to 2013, when Powers transitioned to a consulting role. Her consulting stint enriched her perspective, emphasizing the importance of empathy and energy in client interactions, qualities that have earned her glowing endorsements from colleagues.Upon returning full-time to CRN, Powers was promoted to Senior Director of Marketing Communications around the early 2020s, and eventually to her current VP role. In this capacity, she oversees the development of CRN’s content and communications platforms, leads marketing strategy and execution, and focuses on elevating executive member engagement.
